Bass player with the Shaun O’Casey Blues Band.  Band split up after one gig for no obvious reason. Bass player with folk band Autumn Tide. Quickly developed aversion to folk music and left band.

 

|-1971-|

Guitarist and vocalist with Sussex-based Cats Like Plain Crisps and then Billy Goat Gruff. Cats Like Plain Crisps split up following the unexplained disappearance of key members. Billy Goat Gruff, a proto-punk band, were banned from venues in Eastbourne following a gig in a wine bar where things were broken and audience members injured.

Formed the semi-legendary Inside Leg who were tipped as the next big thing for 1974 by John Peel. Never actually became the next big thing for 1974. Carried on through various personnel changes and with a series of comebacks for much of the 70s.

 

|-1980s/90s-|

A period of musical estivation.

 

|-Mid 90s-|

Vocalist with pub rock band Los Vaqueros. Solo gigs in UK and US.

 

|-From 2002-|

Sessions with Alan Scobie at Blue Recording in Glasgow. Gigs with Clive Price from Calliope. Residency at Camberwell Blues Club in SE London. Frequent visits to Austin, TX to play gigs & record.

 

|-2007-|

Released first album ‘Retablo’ recorded in Austin with his band, Roger West & The Ones To Watch.

 

|-2007-2010-|

Visits to Austin to work on 2nd album with new band, Roger West & His Own Worst Enemies, plus a number of side projects including guerrilla music/poetry collaborations and gigs in some very weird and scary places.
